Ivy Adams

Instructor

Ivy Adams began training in ballet and various other styles of dance at the age of two. She is a graduate of Denton ballet Academy and was awarded a certificate of successful completion of the courses in classical ballet technique and related ballet dance styles. During her time as a student at DBA, Ivy was accepted into several prestigious ballet intensive and training programs including Bolshoi, Kirov and multiple 100% scholarship awards to Joffrey ballet school. In addition, Ivy attended summer ballet intensives at Joffrey ballet in New York and Denver. In 2019, she competed at Youth America Grand Prix in  both ballet and contemporary. She danced with the Festival Ballet of North Central Texas for 13 years and was a lead soloist. She danced roles from baby buffoon to Clara and leading roles including Icicle, Arabian Princess and Rose Queen.

She graduated from John Guyer High School in 2020 where she was a member of the Silverado‘s drill team. She served as a leader on the team as a Senior Lieutenant.

Ivy is a recent graduate of Kilgore College where she was a member of the 81st line of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes and she also was selected as a Swingster, an elite group of dancers within the organization. During her time as a Kilgore College Rangerette she performed in the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. In May 2022, she received an Associates Degree in Fine Arts of Dance with High Honors, Phi Theta Kappa from Kilgore College.

Currently, Ivy attends the University of North Texas majoring in Dance Education and is a member of the North Texas Dancers. She will again be dancing at the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and she will compete in the National Dance Association competition in 2023.

Ivy is excited to be back with Denton Ballet Academy and looks forward to sharing her gift and love of dance with the next generation of dancers!
